Ellie Jane Goulding born 30th December, 1986 in Hereford England. Her mother Tracey Goulding-Summers worked at an ice cream shop and the father Arthur Goulding was a member of an undertaker's family. Goulding has three children: one sister Isabel whom is more senior, an older brother Alex and another sister Jordan. Alex her brother plays bass and is a member of the Hereford band. At the age of a young girl she was surrounded by her mom who advised her to be music teacher. As a young girl, she began learning to play the clarinet. At the age of 14, she started writing songs. But, she did not really start pursuing songwriting in the college period. Goulding developed an interest in electronic music when she was studying.
